David Sheldrick Elephant & Rhino Orphanage
This is a rescue centre for orphaned baby elephants, some just a few days old when they arrive. The team here takes care of them and releases them back into the wild when they’re old enough. They have over 30 elephants at a time, each with its own personality—playing or sulking or being mischievous. You can’t help falling in love with them! Most people go to the 11 am public viewing, but if you sponsor an elephant for $50 you can go to a private viewing at 5 pm. It’s a wonderful cause to donate to, and a great experience to see the elephants running back to the keepers after a day in the park to get their milk and be put to bed in their pens.
