Charlottesville City Market
In the spring, summer, and fall, Saturday mornings are the time to grab your reusable bags and go to the city market Water Street next to the downtown mall. Lots of fresh produce, flowers, jewelry, snacks, and gift items. Get coffee from one of the vendors and try the local food vendors. Won't…
From the end of April to middle of December, this is where you find the best from local farmers and artisans. This is my go to Saturday breakfast spot. So many talented chefs come to the market and host a pop-up.
Large bustling Saturday morning local farmers' market. In late November it transforms into a holiday market.
This is a farmers market located in Charlottesville, at the Downtown Mall area. Make sure to check the dates for this farmers market (typically Saturday from 8-12). There are plenty of vendors at this farmers market and plenty to see and buy!

“Authentic French pastries and wonderful breads. If you haven’t been before, you must go and get a slice of apple galette and a cappuccino. Their brunch is excellent as well, but we prefer to just order a large box of pastries from the walk up counter. ”

“Real-deal, whole-animal butcher dudes. When you're in the mood to grill, go here! Amazing grass-fed steaks, house-made sausages and the most helpful, knowledgeable butchers around. On weekends, they also make the most insane ham biscuits with hot sauce and honey. Also a great place any day for great sandwiches. ”
“It’s as easy to grab a good, kid-friendly taco here as it is to grab an amazingly delicious taco for you. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. Indoor and outdoor seating, absolutely kid friendly. Space outside for kids to run around and be kids. Great margaritas. ”
“Feel like you’re eating breakfast at your grandmothers house, but with more flair. Cute mugs, fun specials. Long waits but worth it”
“A visit to Charlottesville isn't complete without a stop at the Downtown Mall. It is one of the most beautiful and successful pedestrian malls in the nation, and it's located in historic downtown Charlottesville. A wonderful mix of restored and renovated buildings that typified small "downtowns" throughout the country can now be seen by visitors as they enjoy shopping, dining and visiting along the brick-paved pedestrian area. The Downtown Mall is a vibrant collection of more than 120 shops and 30 restaurants (many with outdoor cafes) housed in the historic buildings on and around old Main Street. Enjoy dining al fresco (in season) at a number of fine restaurants, shop at any of the unique boutiques or meander by flowing fountains. Take in a movie or play at one of the several fine theaters. Convenient parking in nearby garages and parking lots, as well as free trolley service connecting the Downtown Mall to the University of Virginia along West Main Street make a visit to the downtown easy for visitors of all ages.”
