Whelan’s is in the unique position of being not only one of the most important live music venues of the last decade, but also one of Ireland’s most famous pubs.
A favourite venue of mine for many years, great acts playing on a regular. Tasty selection of ales and beers. It’s a fun place to be.
Great music scene and sprawling, yet tiny, pub. Whelan's is actually a couple buildings that have been joined together, so on one side it's a classic pub, on the other more lively and modern. Lots to explore here.
“Comfy couches and eclectic alternative music in a small bar. Great for a quiet early afternoon drink, or a quick one after dinner.”
“Best food store and take away fresh sandwiches/ soup Great frozen meals in freezer”
“Funky, modern cafe with Mediterranean-inflected menu using local produce with small balcony/terrace.”
“Great local hip pub to go. It appears a small pub from the outside, but if you step through there is a large beer garden inside with the big blue bus offering delicious pizza.”
“12 Wexford St - is located in the heart of buzzing Wexford Street and Camden Street, Las Tapas de Lola offers award-winning Spanish tapas, wines, beers and tasty sangria for every occasion. It’s an Irish-Spanish co-production from the lovely Vanessa & Anna and has incredibly warm service that keeps everyone coming back, as well as the mouth watering tapas of course. There’s a nice terrace area out the front that is great for people watching. I would recommend you book here as everyone loves this Dublin institution. ”
