Black Balsam Knob
Best hike in the area. 360 views from the top. Hike is easy to moderate, and only about a mile before you see the best views of the Smokies and Blue Ridge.
A “must do” hike located in Pisgah National Forest and off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Moderate 2-5 mile round trip hike.
About an hour and half away. Awesome views! This is part of the Art Loeb Trail.
Wide open views of the mountains! Plus, Skinny Dip Falls, Frying Pan Mountain Fire Tower, and Devil’s Courthouse are all close by! These are relatively short trails so you could easily enjoy them all.

“The views from the Pisgah Inn are amazing! You can see from Lake Toxaway, on your right all the way to your left to Hendersville. We were told that on a clear day South Carolina was visible! The gift shop has a variety of quality souvenirs including Biltmore wines. The food was good too. ”
