Gravelly Point is more of a locals thing but its worth a mention. Its a park right along the Potomac River just north of Reagan National Airport. Its a fun place to have a watch the planes take off and land. Folks usually bring a blanket (and maybe a picnic) and watch as the planes fly a few…
Fun place to bike to and watch the airplanes land at Reagan-National/DCA airport.
A wide open park at the end of the National Airport runways. Best place in the world to watch jets take off and land over head! Plenty of space to eat a picnic lunch by the Potomac River.
The kids (of all ages) will love this stop! Accessible via a 30-minute walk from the National Airport metro stop, but easily accessible by car, pack a picnic and go watch the planes take off or land at National.
“This is one of the most popular restaurants in Del Ray. We love eating here, the family is really nice and the food is awesome. Expect at least a 20 minute wait. ”
“Shirlington Village is a walkable collection of shops and restaurants. There is also a grocery store, movie theater, and live theater.”

“Completely vegan- a great place for the vegans of the world, or if you need a break from meat. You can't tell you're not eating meat! Very reasonably priced, too.”
