A National Park next to the city. You can even go by bus. Choose bus 20 from Castellane to Luminy - best for stunning views of the Calanques or 19 to Pointe Rouge and change to 20 for Callelongue - best to be as close to sea as possible - warning: this route is more touristy
Ideal for walk and swim! It takes a few hill walks and rocky scrambles, but your reward is staggering scenery, rare flora and fauna and a cool, refreshing dip in some of Europe’s prettiest waters.
“If you come in Marseille you have to get there ! Notre dame de la Garde is a church dedicated to Marie which is on the top of a higher mount in Marseille. From a Christian site, it has become for all Marseille inhabitants, a kind of symbol of the city whatever religion they follow, if ever they follow one. Most important, from its foot you can see a panorama of all the city, it is really wonderful. You can get there by car, bus, touristic train, taxi , but remember that the last hundred meters have to be walked on foot and to make a wish once up there ! ”
“Flaner autour et dans le musée c'est incontournable ! Stroll around and in the museum it's a must ! 7 Promenade Robert Laffont +33 4 84 35 13 13”
“From the Réformé church (up the Canebière) you can follow the Boulevard Longchamp where you can see nice example of old upper-class buildings to arrive to Palais Longchamp. The palais is worth visiting though it won't take you long. You can visit the "musee des beaux arts" as well as the natural history museum.”
“The location (Panier neighbourhood) and the structure themselves are nice for a casual stroll. La Vieille Charité has consistently exceptional exhibits. ”
