Large forested park covering an extinct volcano with tennis courts, a playground & 360-degree views.
This is a must see park - bring a picnic and hike up to the top for a great view of the city. Wander the paths, or walk up the street to get to the top. Some of the biggest trees in the city live here.
Amazing trails. Dog park. Plus great views of downtown and Mt. Hood! Ideal for a picnic or just to watch the sunset. Wonderful when cherry blossoms are blooming.

“If you want to skip the crowds at the big Powells downtown, come to this locations - it's smaller but still mighty! There's a great garden and food Powells book store next door too.”
“Laurelhurst Park is a classic city park, with a little of something for everyone. Playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, and on the other side of a quiet road a wide park in the midst of tall trees with a duck pond and fountains. The walking paths are paved and suitable for those of all abilities, and the park has an off-leash area for dogs. There are numerous benches and picnic spots including a few barbecues, so it is easy to spend a whole day there enjoying the people and the park.”
“One of the first theaters in the country to offer dining with your movie, you can order a beer and a meal to enjoy while you watch your movie here. The Bagdad is utterly unique!”
“People routinely line up in January, in the rain, to eat Salt & Straw’s ice cream and yes, it really is that good. They make the most popular ice cream in the city and work with local candy makers and bakers on seasonal flavors that will make you wonder where they come up with stuff.”
“My favorite movie theater features new and indie classics. Bar and food you can take into the theater (and usually $1 slices when the last shows get out after midnight).”
