The drive from Wimberley to Blanco is a beautiful Texas country road. Make sure to take Ranch Road 32 over the Devil's backbone that suddenly rises to 1,274 feet above sea level. Look for the roadside park with a view of the ridge and the surrounding valleys. The Devil's backbone is said to be haunted, and locals claim to have seen or heard the ghosts of Spanish monks, Native Americans, and early settlers. Once in Blanco, you can access the park from U.S. 281. It is a 104.6-acre park, along a mile of the Blanco River. It features camping, picnicking, screened shelters, swimming, tubing, nature trails, and a wildlife viewing station.

This is a great area for fishing, swimming or just having a picnic. There are many areas to hang your hammock or ride a bike.
