The Moongate Lounge is a 55 seat cocktail bar and lounge with an 80 seat event space above Mister Jiu’s restaurant in San Francisco Chinatown. The cocktail list at Moongate Lounge will have 6 house cocktails named after moons in our solar system and 6 seasonally rotating cocktails named after the Chinese lunar calendar. Each of the cocktails take inspiration from Chinese ingredients, but are structurally built from classic cocktail recipes. Another feature to the cocktail program will be the ‘bottle service’, which will feature hard to find, exceptional and allocated spirits served by the ounce. The food menu will be focused on hors d’oeuvres, bar snacks and Chef Brandon Jew’s interpretation of some Chinese American throwbacks like: Bakkwa, Pig Trotter Ham Sui Gok, Parisian 'Egg Tart', and more! The wines are exclusively focused on natural wines and pivots toward affordable, delicious, and unique options that will compliment the food menu. The wine list will rotate, but all wines selected will be from vineyards farmed using organic and/or biodynamic practices with no additions in the wine, other than little to no sulphur. Just as we care about the farming practices for our food, we feel the same about the wines being poured at the Moongate Lounge. The majority of the wines range between $40-100 per bottle.
