Arataki Visitor Centre
Great place to start your day with 360 degree panoramic views of Auckland and surrounds. The visitor centre is packed full of resources to help you plan local walks and hikes and has plenty information on the history of New Zealand and the Waitakere ranges.
best natural scenery kept only in Oratia stream end to meet the ocean. Also good for child education and souvenir shopping while you enjoy best clean air.
Arataki visitors gives a great history of the local area, there a many great walks which start here including one of my daily favourites the Beveridge Track
A great place to find out more about the area, get maps and guides for forest and beach walks and enjoy stunning views out over the Waitakere ranges and waters. A few walks start directly from the centre into the bush in all directions. Finish off with delicious Danish ice creams in a cone. Or take…
“Interesting decor - turkish-come-Scandi style with blue turkish tiles, crisp white louvred dividers, lovely custom crockery, glasses and turkish details. Good coffee and cakes and a Middle Eastern menu. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Our own stunning gallery in Titirangi village, second only to the Auckland Art Gallery. It hosts a number of exhibitions ongoing, has a great gallery shop with work from local artists, jewellers, ceramicists and New Zealand writers etc. Views from the glass encased staircase take you over the bays and forests. ”
“You can walk down the road to Kashmir street and Catch the 154 bus to the new Lynn transport hub, it’s about 10 min away on the bus and you can do food-shopping and go to bars restaurants ect, ”
“A wide range of movies close to Bricklane Bar & Restaurant West Auckland . a word of warning - pricy restaurants and cafes. Better not to buy wine or beer as very expensive. and can really dent your pocket.”
“If you need a retro hipster vibe on your travels, look no further than this awesome cafe. 70s furniture, yummy food, waiters with beards, Mums with babies, people tapping away at laptops sipping lattes, kids zone; it's all here. 15 minutes drive.”
