Cloudland Canyon State Park
Great place to hike for a day trip! Be aware there are lots of stairs getting down to falls!!
This park is on top of Lookout Mountain. There is an 1800 foot gulch to view, waterfalls, flowers and trees, trails (walking, biking, horse) and a fantastic Interpretive Center. This is a MUST see if you are anywhere near this area.
If you have a few hours to explore the park, our favorite trail is the West Rim Trail! It's been nationally ranked in outdoor magazines and has incredible views.
“Watch in amazement as you see hang gliders take off and soar. Staff and hang gliders are very knowledgeable. So exciting to watch! Pack your lunch or snacks and bring chairs or a blanket to watch. ”
“Recommended by locals, well worth the drive to the top of Lookout Mountain. You can brown bag your beer and wine. ”
“Located where Chattanooga first began, the riverfront. Opening in 1992, the aquarium featured one of the first fresh water aquariums. Later to add the IMAX theatre in 1996 and the salt water aquarium in 2005”
“Fantastic waterfall and nice hike....Only open every other weekend and must purchase a car pass for $15 in advance.”
