Spitkeet is another word for sod hut. In the open-air museum and theme park you can experience how the people on the Frisian and Groningen heathland lived and worked in the period 1850-1950. The people were very poor and the conditions were deplorable. A treasure hunt has been made for the children through the open-air museum and there are two playgrounds.
