This is a gorgeous spot to enjoy the river. There are huge fountains for kids to play in as well as a carousel. Lots of good eating close by.
Visitors can take in the sights of the river, walk across the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge into downtown, play frisbee, ride the carousel, splash in the fountain, or explore the many places to shop and eat.
Walking about Northshore and the "Walking Bridge" is a lot of fun. There is a park below it on the river called Coolidge Park and it is nice. Ruby Falls is great if you have never been, one of those things that you need to see once.

“Two buildings filled with sea and river life. Never gets old even though we go 5-10 times a year”
“Chattanooga is known for this pedestrian walking bridge. It connects the city's River Front area to the North Shore area. Both offer lots to do, including plenty of tourist type shops and activities. ”
“Another local favorite in the Southside district, between St. Elmo and downtown. Their food and drink menu is worth the visit! They also have a great patio area for when the weather is nice.”
