Alpine Sidney Spit Ferry
Got a few hours free to spend on the beach. Head on the little island ferry to Sidney Island and Sidney Spit. In the Summer there's an ice cream vendor and occasionally a hot dog stand but it's best to pack drinks and food. It's one of the favourite spots for the local dolphins to appear but…
Take the ferry from here over to Sidney Spit! It is a must. Beautiful white sandy beaches, the raw beauty of the west coast! We spend lots of time here in the summer!
Sidney on the Sea is a lovely little town a half hours drive from Victoria. Take this ferry (from downtown) to Sidney Spit – a beautiful little island with white sandy beaches.
“The fish and chip shop in downtown Sidney. Great for lunch. nice patio in the Summer. 3.3km or 7 minute drive away. Take out available.”
“Awesome classic diner with great decor, amazing milkshakes and all day breakfast. I personally like the Sarah Toast (but only because we share a name)”
“Really nice food but more pricy than most. Small place so best to book ahead. Overlooks Van Isle Marina with good views of the boats. Great place. 6.3km or a 10 minute drive away.”
“More views? The Surly Mermaid is right next to Port Sidney Marina with views of the marina and the seafront. Great patio in the Summer. Get there early for the fresh mussels. Very reasonable prices. Sometimes a wait for a table. 3.7km or a 8 minute drive away.”
“Our local Swiss restaurant like the name says. Absolute best schnitzel you will find in Canada and the biggest choice of schnitzels. Expensive in the evening and you need to book but lunch menus are almost the same and are a fraction of the cost. 3.8km or a 6 minute drive away.”
