Silver Lake Meadow
Pop a squat, bring a picnic, and enjoy a book, answer your email, the company of a loved one, or even just someone you moderately tolerate (they'll seem a lot more interesting as the sun sets on the reservoir)
Part of the Silver Lake Reservoir. It's a large lawn "meadow" recreational area with a view of the lake with benches and paths. Bring a sun hat and picnic blanket (we can provide one for you), as there's only 1 spot with decent shade.
You can run around the reservoir on the running trail. Go play with dogs at the dog park. Play basketball. Or just relax on the grass in the park.
Large grassy area on the lakeside. No dogs (WHAT?! WHY!?!!) allowed. Great for an enclosed natural space to do Yoga and contemplate a world without dogs. Just across from the beautiful architecture of the Noitre houses.
I would give it 5 stars but their is no shade on the play area during certain times of the day, and the guys at the basketball court smoke sometimes.
Walk or jog around the well-groomed 2.2-mile reservoir perimeter path before joining the neighborhood locals for a relaxing afternoon on the soft, grassy area on the east side of reservoir know as “the meadow.” You’ll find the park benches, trees, walking paths, and drought-appropriate landscaping…

“Casual spot for great vegan food - really a take-out place with a few seats rather than a "restaurant," you can grab a salad for one or two people and eat it there, but larger parties will want to take the food somewhere else to eat. ”
“A local chain of killer Ice Cream.... sundaes, reproductions of some classics (strawberry shortcake), ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream macaroons.”
“Higher end chef-driven contemporary Italian place in the neighborhood. After your meal, walk across the street and get a drink at L&E Oyster Bar's upstairs bar. ”
