The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens is a collections-based research and educational institution established in 1919 by Henry E. and Arabella Huntington.
A little farther out, but a significantly more robust experience than the Japanese Garden of Van Nuys, the Huntington Library has gardens, books, a rose tea room and plenty of eateries.
One of coolest places in Pasadena. Library has many interesting historical works ranging from the first known maps to great works of literature. The gardens are immaculate and you can do English tea here.
“My favorite museum in LA is actually in beautiful downtown Pasadena. You will find a remarkable variety of 20th Century art such as Degas, Renoir, Picasso and Van Gogh. Wait til you see the quality of the works. It's a 50 minute drive but parking is easy once you get there. Tip: Treat yourself to a nice lunch at 'Il Fornaio' afterwards.”
“Great walking area, few different routes as well as a park and various weekend activities such as swap meets (every second sunday of the month) Football games tailgating etc.”
“Historic Old Town Pasadena is the Happenin'est place in Pasadena. Great for shopping or eating out, or for a local night on the town, Old Town Pasadena offers a multitude of options for locals and visitors alike.”
“Every season is exquisite, but Christmas is exceptionally beautiful in the evening with gorgeous lights everywhere. A beautiful place to walk and contemplate ”
