Red Poppy Art House
Art Collective with a small but great music space. Sliding scale donation for concerts, we've seen some great acts here. Arrive early to snag the window seats at the back!
The smallest, cleanest, cutest, artsiest little music venue you will ever find. It's not open that often, but it's a nice tiny contribution to the artist's community. Seating room only.
“The Galería is a non-profit community-based arts organization whose mission is to foster public awareness and appreciation of Chicano/Latino art and serve as a laboratory where artists can both explore contemporary issues in art, culture and civic society, and advance intercultural dialogue”
“Nightly live performances with a fun outdoor/indoor vibe. Small and cozy. Can get busy!”
“This great independent bookstore almost went of out business, but a bunch of like-minded people joined forces to save it and transform it into a co-op. Their new location on 24th Street carries both new and old books, and their art gallery programming, with a focus on local artists, has always been really well respected in the city. They don’t have any set agenda with their art on display, and just like any gallery, they try to mix it up to keep it interesting. Check the events calendar on their website to see what’s up.”
“The best bagels in San Francisco, and an amazing deli. Terrific breakfast and lunch spot. And also good to stroll 24th Street and the vibrant community of small shops.”
“The Mission is known for its murals and Precita Eyes conduct tours adding another dimension to the history and content of the murals. City Guides also gives tours and these are free.”
