位于大阪城中央的天守阁是大阪城的核心建筑，始建于1583年，因此它又被称为“秀吉的城”。如今的天守阁是1931年仿造的混凝土式建筑，内部已改造为关于丰臣秀吉及大阪城历史的博物馆，在顶层还可以眺望大阪市景。 建造在高台上的天守阁，白色的墙面配以绿色的屋瓦，每个飞翘的屋檐末端都装饰着用金箔塑造的老虎和龙头鱼身的金鯱造型，可谓金碧辉煌。每到春秋两季，樱花盛开或枫叶染红，便是这里最美丽的时候。
