Expect queues and noise but don't expect table service when the humble Michelin-starred Singaporean food stall Hawker Chan opens its Melbourne spin-off on 8th December 2017 . Chef Chan Hon Meng has teamed up with brand manager Hersing Culinary (the company that brought Tim Ho Wan here in 2017) to give Melburnians a taste of the Hong Kong-style barbecue that wowed inspectors from the French-based restaurant guide. Touted as the world's cheapest Michelin-starred meal, Hawker Chan's menu is built on Meng's chopped-to-order crisp-skinned soy chicken, char siu (barbecued pork), crisp-skinned roast pork and pork ribs. Prices start at $6.80 for a plate of the signature soy chicken and rice.
