Pompeii offers a look at Roman houses, temples, baths, gardens, and public areas, like the amphitheater. I suggest to reach the archeological area by train: the “Pompei - Villa dei Misteri” stop is just in front of the entrance to the site. Once you get there, the entrance fee is EUR 12.
