The Borusan Contemporary Perili Köşk (Haunted Mansion) Istanbul was founded with the vision to introduce the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection to a wider audience and to strengthen interest in contemporary art in Turkey. Based on the "office-museum" concept, Borusan Contemporary aims to become a pioneer in the field of media art with its unique physical environment hosting the works and a distinct visiting experience. Prominent art works from the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection are exhibited on the office floors of the Haunted Mansion for extensive periods of time and can be visited by art enthusiasts every weekend. The building serves as the office of the Borusan Holding Company during the week and hosts a variety of selections from the collection, solo or group exhibitions organized by nationally and internationally recognized curators over the weekends. A further goal of the museum is to contribute to the production of knowledge by supporting the exhibitions with educational programs and academic discussions intended for children from all age groups as well as adults, thereby directly influencing Turkey's artistic and cultural environment. Borusan Contemporary is a space for art and a multi-platform program of exhibitions, events, educational initiatives, new commissions and site specific installations rooted in the Borusan Contemporary Art Collection. These activities are defined by their specific focus on media arts broadly defined, ie artists who work with time, light, technology, video, software and beyond. Most of the program takes place at the Perili Köşk Istanbul, and co-exists with the offices of Borusan Holding, in essence creating a unique atmosphere in an office paradigm. The entire building including the galleries, office space, café, Borusan ArtStore and outdoor terraces with breathtaking views of the Bosphorus are open to the public on the weekends.
