Awesome, awesome, awesome. Completed in 1890 by Island coal baron, Robert Dunsmuir (see his Wikipedia page for an intriguing read), Craigdarroch Castle is a must see if you are into history, architecture, and things of that nature. Afterwards, stroll down some of the nearby side streets for a look…

A castle in Canada. One of two in Victoria that appear in many movies and TV shows. There are audio guides and tours. 26.2km or a 30 minute drive away.

Point of Interest
“The British Columbia Parliament Buildings are home to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. The Speaker and the Serjeant-at-Arms are amongst those responsible for the legislative precinct, which by statute include the Parliament Buildings and grounds. The Neo-baroque buildings face north on Belleville Street facing the Inner Harbour and diagonally across from The Empress Hotel. A statue of Queen Victoria stands on the front lawn as well the British Columbia Legislature Cenotaph commemorating the province's World War I, World War II, Korean War and Afghanistan War dead. Atop the central dome is a gold-covered statue of Captain George Vancouver. Free guided tours of the facility are offered year-round.”
