The Barrel Inn
Bretton- Quaint 16th century inn with the most amazing views - on a clear day it is possible to see five counties.
Great pub food, with a spectacular outlook over the area, very cosy in winter.
The Barrel has fantastic views, a fabulous roaring fire in the Winter, excellent food (chips to die for!), a history around the Mass Trespass of Kinder Scout in 1932 and a friendly welcome. Its a great place to head for if you are looking for somewhere to eat on your first night in Eyam. You can…
Point of Interest
“The Longdendale Trail is an English long-distance trail following the former Woodhead railway line, which used to run between Manchester and Sheffield. It has shallow gradients and a smooth surface that makes it popular with families and cyclists.”
“Litton is a short walk from Tideswell, and the Red Lion is our favourite local pub. Good food, nice atmosphere and a lovely walk over.”
“The Monsal Trail is just on your doorstep and a wonderful way to explore the immediate area or join up other routes to get to know the wider area. It is approx 8 miles in length, traffic free and offers stunning views from start to finish. Along the way in which ever direction are places of interest, with Bakewell and (close to) Buxton at either end. Sadly Buxton doesn't quite link up to the trail yet. Pubs and cafes along the way make it a great place for either a quick evening walk or a full day's exploring. (See links for Hassop Station (Cafe and bike hire) and Miller's Dale stations (cafe and car park) ”
“A great place for breakfast/brunch - the waffles are amazing ! - open until 4.00pm”
