Shannon Healy opened Alley Twenty Six in 2012, with the goal to redefine what it means to drink in your local watering hole. Seasonally-based drinks are crafted with a passion for honoring the art of the classic cocktail and a commitment to sourcing ingredients locally. Since then, Alley Twenty Six doubled its size with the addition of a full kitchen and dining room, where chef Carrie Schleiffer offers dishes like slow roasted pork belly and braised oxtail ragu to complement Healy's libations.

A craft cocktail institution downtown, this is the place to go for creative concoctions and an intimate, classy atmosphere. Recommended: Cheese plate, seasonal cocktails.
This bar across from The Durham hotel serves great cocktails along with a small side menu.
“It’s hard to get a reservation here, but they have been doing take out. Remember when restaurants were still about making food for the art and love of it...this is it. ”
“Perfect place to sit outside in the spring and summer months and have a cold beverage. Definitely pay the couple of bucks for the snack plate with 3 of your choosing: swedish fish, goldfish, pretzels, wasabi peas. Some of the best beer in town!”
“Casual bar in the same building as the brewery itself (you can tour during the daytime). Fullsteam often hosts trivia nights and community events and serves small plates, too. Recommended: A wide selection of arcade and board games.”
