Surf's up ! The Honoli’i River joins the ocean, with surfing and some swimming areas. Bathrooms on site. popular place especially on weekend and holidays. This place is famous, featured in local songs and stories.
The best surf in Hilo. Family friendly, wave breaks for all levels. Good for surfboards, bodyboards, SUP/paddleboard, kayaks, fishing. Occasionally whales can be spotted and turtles are almost always present.
If you want to see some local surfers catching some waves, Honoliʻi is the place to go.
