The original Cville favorite for shabby-chic and gourmet food - was recommended by Craig Claiborne in NY Times long ago. Intimate seating upstairs, atmosphere on the ground floor, conviviality at the bar and a few tables in the basement,
This is a Charlottesville tradition. White table cloth restaurant upstairs, old school, casual bar (where you can dine) in the basement. Super charming, good food. French.
The C&O is a must go if you like a very historic place. It is very unique and memorable. You can choose from 6 different dining rooms ranging from casual walk-ins to upscale and special.
Celebrated country French fare & a deep wine list in a serene setting amid brick walls & barn wood.
“Mas is a truly great tapas restaurant with z huge selection and particularly fun in nice weather since they have a large popular outdoor seating area. But the bar inside is nice too since you can watch all the many specialties being prepared. i get a small pitcher of their delicious sangria and several tapas. yum! Mas is only 2 blocks from the bnb down Monticello Road. ”
“Love their Lobster and pappardelle entree. Great place to go before a show at the Paramount Theater. They also do a pre theater 3 course dinner. ”
“Seafood & French. Cool spot down an alley on the famous Charlottesville Downtown Mall. Atmosphere is smoky (without the smoke) with a throwback vibe.”
“Excellent food on the downtown Mall - good menu includes but is not limited to a great vegetarian selection”
