Children's Fairyland is an amusement park designed for younger children, located in Oakland on the shores of Lake Merritt. It was one of the earliest "themed" amusement parks in the United States. Fairyland includes 10 acres of play sets, small rides, and animals.
If you have kids, this place is a MUST! Built in 1952 it was an inspiration to the modern Disneyland. Toddlers will find it magical. As of this writing, that thumbnail is of the stage at Fairyland and it's empty. Don't be fooled by that photo, Fairyland is far from bland.
