A rotating presentation of the world-renown artist, a look into her life, and a timeline of her evolution as an artist. Reservations needed at least a week or two out. Ghost Ranch, where she created many of her landscapes, is just northwest and also requires reservations.

The museum displays paintings O’Keeffe created throughout her lifetime and explains how each new creative phase added to her stature as a painter. O'Keefe defined a whole era of contemporary art and put New Mexico on the map as an art center. This will inspire you to go to Abiquiu and see the gorgeous landscapes there. Georgia O'Keeffe discovered northern New Mexico in the early 1900's and eventually moved to the Abiquiu area full time. Her art has become iconic of the Southwest, and the museum presents the artist and her work in a way that is easy to appreciate, even if you do not have a strong art background.
