With over 10,000 students, WCU is the largest uniersity in this area. We are a thirty minute drive from campus.
Our son is attending WCU and it's also our alma mater! At only 18 miles from our Farmhouse, it's a quick drive. This top Southern College is comprised of more than 11,000 students. The Mountain Heritage Center hosts a great calendar of events, including concerts and Mountain Heritage Day and it's…
Beautiful campus and valley. Easily walkable and interesting to see the students and buildings. Hosts good food options available to the community and visitors.
Very nice cultural anchor for the area. A non-stop calendar of sports events, theatre, seminars, etc.
Saturday football games are fun and charming -- and the WCU marching band is easily one of the best in the country. An exciting, unorthodox halftime show.
“Located 3 miles east of Cherokee on US 19. See Santa and his elves, browse through gift shops and exhibits, and visit the domestic and exotic animals in the zoo. Santa's Land also features rides, picnic facilities, and multiple restaurants. Open daily 9 am to 5 pm from March 31st through October 31st.”
“FUN & ADVENTURE! FAMILY FUN! 30 miles East of the cabin in the historic town of Dillsboro, just outside of Sylva and Cullowhee is rafting and tubing! Make sure to eat at Haywood Smokehouse (my favorite) or Kosta's (Jeff's favorite) after your adventure in quaint Dillsboro, NC.”
“Very cool food truck parked next to Innovation Brewing, in Sylva. The brats are totally awesome. Very cool scene.”
