Day Hiking-$$ Beautiful drive featuring dazzling views of the Blue Ridge Mnts. Stop at mile marker 408 to have a relaxing luncheon at the Pisgah Inn. View from the back deck is alone worth the trip!
Access to Blue ridge Parkway for hiking, biking, camping, and basically everything outdoors.
Nice stop along the parkway for a view and drink. There is a restaurant but I would stick with appetizers and hit Asheville for better food. Only open April-October. Check website for exact dates.
Take a scenic drive to Pisgah Inn to dine within a great atmosphere with breathtaking views. Opens seasonally.
Restaurant, store and gathering spot for enjoying the Blue Ridge Parkway. Take a drive and view the Appalachians in all their glory!
Best early breakfast. Park at Mt. Pisgah. Walk a mile and watch the sun rise. Enjoy a huge country breakfast with a 50 mile view of the Blue Ridge. Finish with a beautiful 1 hour drive back to town.
The views from the Pisgah Inn are amazing! You can see from Lake Toxaway, on your right all the way to your left to Hendersville. We were told that on a clear day South Carolina was visible! The gift shop has a variety of quality souvenirs including Biltmore wines. The food was good too.

“Great portions for the price. Won't leave there hungry. My two favorite dishes are the Zacatecas Spicy Fajitas and the Pollo Bowl. ”
“HIKING - Black Balsam is a bald mountain ridge with 360 degree views. Budget an hour drive taking you past Asheville and onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s an Asheville favorite. You can also see the Graveyards Fields (which sit right below Black Balsam). ”
