Located in the Lower West Side community & Pilsen, Harrison Park totals17.39 acres & features a field house with a gymnastics center, indoor pool & gym. Outside, the park offers tennis & basketball courts, baseball & athletic fields, playground & community garden.
If the weather is nice, you'll find people filling up the large green area of the park as well as kids all over the new playground. Street vendors line the corners, and its a great place to relax and read a book!
A good place for a run. The sidewalk around the park is 3/4 mile. An easy 5K route is run to the park, do 2 figure eights (a path bisects the park), and run back. There is a playground for kids and green space for relaxing.
Elotes! Ice Cream! Baseball! Futbol! Check out the indoor pool in the field house, bring your tennis racket or b-ball...hang out like a local ;-)
“Chicago is big on corner bars, and Martin’s is one of the best. Cheap drinks and standard bar food await. Food served until 8 pm.”
“Located in the Fairplay Plaza on Western and Cermak, with an abundance of washers and dryers available.”
“Bicycles for rental: a great way to tour the neighborhood and the city! There is also a Divvy Station a few blocks south, on 24th Street and Western Avenue.”
“I recommend their Real American Hot Dogs! Omg and their beef is to die for. It's small but a perfect hangout. It reminds you of one of those o'l restaurants from the 40's or 50's”
