My wife and I own this combination furniture store and coffee shop, tucked away in a residential part of the city. It looks like a living room, with rustic wooden tables, chairs covered in African fabrics, and lots of colourful cushions. My wife makes the furniture herself, and everything you see you can buy! We also do custom-made items. On the weekends, we serve an amazing brunch menu, including avocado toast and a vegan-friendly tofu scramble.
Their breakfast meals are the tastiest. I recommend their brunch on Saturdays & Sundays is best served with champagne which is quite an experience.
Wasp & Sprout A bit of a hipster hangout (Nairobi’s traditionally never had these, so suddenly they’ve become very trendy)! This is a coffee shop located on Loresho Ridge Rd, which is about a 10 minutes away by car, but a fairy pleasant drive. Its a great place to go if you want a quiet place to get…
“In this dome-shaped building in the heart of the CBD, light pours in through the big windows and vendors try to lure you to their stalls. They sell everything here, from vegetables to meat. You’ll see lots of locals shopping here since it’s so much cheaper than the supermarkets. Just outside the market is a maze of small backstreets with people milling about and chatting. It’s worth exploring a little for a broader look at the street culture around the market.”
Grocery or Supermarket
“Very closeby and well stocked with both local and imported goods. Fresh, canned and packaged foods available. An indoor wines & liquor store, open until 8:30pm, abiding to Kenyan laws.”
“They have the best coffee in town and an extensive gourmet menu, with everything from savory plates of pasta to thick meaty burgers and everything in-between at a great price.”
