Walk down to the overlook from the parking lot and see a beautiful view of Chattanooga and Lookout Valley.
Great view of the Western mountains, especially beautiful at sunset. Requires about a 5 minute walk down a rocky path from the street to the viewpoint. Hiking trails accessible from the viewpoint!
short hike down to a great view . The trial goes on further and connects to many other long trails.

“A great place to climb, and we will provide a crashpad to our climber guests (please sign waver before enjoyment).”
“This is a great walking (biking) path. It's wide with a paved surface that follows the Tennessee River for several miles from Chickamauga Dam through downtown and toward historic St. Elmo at the other extreme. It is easily accessible from downtown though there are multiple access points along the river whether at The Boathouse Restaurant, public parks or the dam.”
“North Chattanooga is a vibrant area near the Tennessee River. This neighborhood ranks high on the walkability scale, and has plenty of great activities, shops and restaurants . The people are friendly, and the residential areas of North Chatt are nice and quiet in the evenings. ”
“Our "neighborhood" pizza joint. In St. Elmo. Call in for carry-out or dine in. Parking is VERY limited and St. Elmo Ave is BUSY through that stretch. So, we recommend parking at Food City and accessing Mr. T's via steps. Note, 05.26.2020: outdoor seating open”
“It’s in an amazing building of restored horse and streetcar barns smack dab in the middle of all the happening stuff downtown. Close to the Aquarium, IMAX, Lookouts ball park, Riverboat, riverfront, movie theater, and all of the very walkable area. Also on the free electric shuttle route (check shuttle hours though). They have great food and drinks, pool tables, and they brew their own variety of soft drinks and beers. ”
