Doe Bay Cafe
Fantastic local food, many things from their own garden (which you can tour, and you should). The views from here are amazing. Sit at the counter for fun conversation, often with Doe Bay employees, and a great view of the kitchen.
This is the Doe Bayers' "local" -- we love this place and you will too! In a historic building at Doe Bay Resort. Open mics on Thursday nights, that benefit local nonprofits. Fantastic vegan, vegetarian and omnivore dishes.
On the east side of the island, past Moran State Park, you'll find the Doe Bay Café. In addition to dining, you can rent a kayak to explore the east part of the island, take a yoga class, schedule a massage, or soak in hot tubs-- swimsuits optional!
If you're into an adventure, take the drive out to Doe Bay Cafe for a breakfast or a Dinner. Fresh Farm ingredients, with a funky vibe.
“The New Leaf puts out great food, consistently. Warm friendly environment with water views. What's not to like? Happy Hour is a great deal and their cocktails are inventive!”
“Did we mention we have a James Beard award-winning chef on the island? This place offers one of the best dining experiences in the state. I compare the food to Canlis in Seattle… but it’s more laid back and cozy. I love to sit at the counter to watch their tiny kitchen work it! You HAVE to eat here at least once… and don’t just order pizza. Do order pizza, but you have to order something else too. ”
“One of my all time favorites..healthy, delicious food for reasonable price. Be patient, the food is worth waiting for..”
“A little free museum that will take a half hour but rewards with a feel of the island of old. If you look hard you might find the Osprey Nest brick. Also note that the Jackson cabin exhibit was from the plot of land where the Osprey Nest and Eagle Roost reside.”
