Another very Texas thing to do is eat Texmex, and Original Ninfas on navigation in EADO is basically the king. Everything here is good: fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, queso, margaritas, even the soups!

This famous restaurant was the birthplace of the fajita, and the original Ninfa's on Navigation still does them as well as anyone in America (except maybe its rival El Tiempo next door). Margaritas are spot-on, as are chile con queso, Tex-Mex classics, and seafood specials including whole fish. Prices are a bit steep, but some secret values lurk within the menu: a five-dollar braised beef chile relleno that's big enough for a meal for smaller appetites, and five-dollar fajita or carnitas breakfast tacos with egg, cheese, and beans. 15-minute walk from the Plant House.
