Free / pay what you wish admission. A small collection right near the PMA, that you can see in under an hour.

The repository of the largest collection of works by Auguste Rodin outside of Paris features treasures such as The Gates of Hell and a bronze caste of The Thinker.

Admission to the Rodin Museum is Pay What You Wish; the garden is free year-round and it is closed on Tuesdays. This location contains the largest collection of sculptor Auguste Rodin's works outside Paris.

Yes there's a copy of the Thinker, but I really like the section of the Gates of Hell. A beautiful museum and grounds, and a collection that doesn't overwhelm like some of the larger museums.

“A Philly classic cultural visit, required. A lot of original impressionist paintings (Matisse, Renoir, etc) in a recreated 'home' setting, so the works of art are very near.”

History Museum
“Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. Known for its grand architecture and strict discipline, this was the world’s first true “penitentiary,” a prison designed to inspire penitence, or true regret, in the hearts of convicts. Tours today include the cellblocks, solitary punishment cells, Al Capone’s Cell, and Death Row.”
