Pine Island Beach Park
Closest beach on the gulf. Not large, but clean and shallow. Great for kids. Great for sunset watching. Playground, picnic shelters and a take out restaurant. $5 for parking
Small yet a little bit of everything in a beach park... crab shack, covered picnic tables, children's play area, sand and palm trees. Beautiful scenery the last mile or two of the drive to the park - we love the sunsets!
Not a large beach - but has a great relaxing feel and nice Gulf breeze and views. Have witnessed dolphins here several times pretty close up. The drive once off main road also takes you through some quiet marshlands.
The gulf waters are warm for a swim. Bring a floatie to lounge or wade in the water. There is a small fishing pier. The sunsets are gorgeous. Also, early in the eve dolphins are feeding near the shore. There is an eatery as well with picnic tables- or bring your own picnic. One of my favorite spots…
