Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977, The Paramount Theatre is one of the last remaining "Art Deco" movie palaces.
I am a tour guide here and also game show host for classic movie nights. I love this old grand theatre
Gorgeous art deco theater. If you're lucky enough to be here when they're showing a classic movie (for $8), hosting a big performance, or running a public tour (1st & 3rd Saturdays each month, just $5), don't miss it.
Music venue The Paramount Theatre is a 3,040-seat Art Deco concert hall. When it was built in 1931, it was the largest multi-purpose theater on the West Coast. Check out the website to see who's playing!
“A historic and always lively venue. Great musical, comedy and other shows to see. It is a central hub of Oakland's history, with great places nearby to check out and explore. Catch a show while in town!”
“This museum is amazing. The permanent main exhibits are great but we return often for the temporary exhibits.”
“[Alameda] Well, Oakland actually. Its a 30 minute bus or 15 minute drive away. A beautiful 3 or so mile walking and biking route around the lake. Best viewed around sunset. Can be romantic on warm nights (which unfortunately are rare).”
“Catch a movie or see a show, this historic theater is a must see when in the Oakland area.”
