Forest Hills Park
Forest Hills Park has the best spray park in Charlottesville. It can get wild on a hot summer afternoon, but it's within walking distance.
“Zero entry area for young ones, lazy river and water slide for the experienced swimmer (you must pass a swim test and meet height requirement). Lots of fun and some shady spots to lounge too.”
“Great homemade ice cream on the downtown pedestrian mall. Grab a burger at Citizen and then walk across the street for ice cream.”

“They rent all sorts of equipment for exploring the Rivanna river: Tubes, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes. They also run a shuttle and do guided tours.”
“This is a great place to go to get quick, healthy food (it has been a staple for us and our kids of all ages for years). You order at the counter and can sit down inside or out. Offers a great kids’ combo meal of a chicken, steak, lamb, or vegetable skewer with rice and carrot sticks and a drink, all for $4.99. And it’s good. ”
