I've been playing here since I was a kid! It's a stunning place! Not a difficult hike, but very scenic.
Fun hike, 10 mins down and up. Fine with kids. Bring your swimming suit for Lower Falls!
Point of Interest
“Skinny Dip Falls. Take Hwy 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway and head south. Pull off near mile marker 417, which is near the Looking Glass Rock overlook. A moderate, short hike will take you to a natural waterfall and swimming hole on the Yellowstone Prong of the Big East Fork of the Pigeon River. Take a cool dip or sun yourself on the rocks. If you continue on the trail past Skinny Dip Falls on the Mountains to Sea trail you will reach Graveyard Fields where you will find more hiking trails and waterfalls.”

“Check out sliding rock, cradle of forestry, tons of hiking trails and scenic overlooks. Go through the park and catch the Blue Ridge Parkway for beautiful views.”
“Bike shop that sells beer, often has a coffee truck and or food truck, sells basic gear and supplies for your adventure. Hip place to hang out after your day in the woods.”
“Located in the Pisgah National Forest just north of Brevard. 7.6 miles from the junction of US Highways 64 and 276, is Sliding Rock, one place where you’re invited to take the plunge down a 50-foot slippery cascade into the 50-60 degree, 7-foot deep pool. There are 2 observation platforms, and lifeguards on duty during the season. This is a heavily used recreation area, so it’s suggested you come early. It’s suggested, too, that you wear old shorts and old sneakers if you choose to take the plunge. Nominal admission charge for sliders but no cost to watch. Lifeguards on duty in season.”
“How cool is this place?! Well...the water is usually really cold however it's a unique spot you can slide in the water on rock and into the pool of water at the bottom. It's like an all natural water park!”
