“The de Young often features traveling exhibits from all over the world. It's in a fantastic modernist building which has a tower that you can go up (free of charge) for a great view of Golden Gate Park and the surrounding city.”
“Science is cool but what about watching gigantic fish flying over your head with a cocktail in hand and DJ in the background? How about in a tropical forest with butterflies landing on your shoulder? Every Thursday night California Academy of Sciences opens up for adults for a night party. Great for dates and hangouts. ”
“The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art was the first museum in this part of the country to show only modern art. There are currently more than 29,000 pieces of work on display including paintings, sculptures, photographs and architecture”
“If you plan on going to Alcatraz, book early! It completely fills up in the summer. ”
“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”
