Our favourite local beach. Quieter than the main Towan Beach and Fistral. It has beautiful views and easy access with a pushchair. There is also a fun burger bar on the beach, a little surfboard rental place and toilets.

Easy slope down to the beach with Great Western Hotel/bar at the top with lovely beer garden and cheap food. Further down towards the sea is The Slope offering food and drink with lots of outdoor seating

Though it is close to the centre of Newquay, the beach is still one of the quieter ones. Rock pools are a great place to explore, and you can walk to all the nearby beaches at low tide. It is also popular with beginner surfers. High cliffs protect the beach from the wind, but it is shaded later in the afternoon, so sunbathing isn’t always ideal. **MY TIPS: The Great Western Hotel up on the cliffs overlooking the beach is a nice place to eat and enjoy the view over to Towan Head and the Harbour. Winter or summer. 1. This is a dog friendly beach year-round. 2. Check tide times before taking walks across the beaches - Available on your phone - Tide times available - on the "My Tide Times" app or online tidetimes(.org.)uk - please stay safe. 3. Lifeguard service during the summer months. 4. On a stormy winters day tuck yourself away in the Great Western Hotel up on the cliffs overlooking the beach - great food summer or winter and fabulous views of Towan Head, the Harbour and beaches.
