One of the most popular local hikes. From the parking area, you can cross the stream to head up a fire road to a swimming hole. Trail to the right is flatter and may require some stream crossing.

The Rivanna Trail runs through and around the city and can be picked up at many points--two within jogging distance of the studio (just ask if you want directions).

Ivy Creek is just a mile from the studio and contains several trail "loops" with different terrains. A few loops run alongside sections of a local reservoir for pretty woods and water scenery.

The views from Jefferson's "little mountain" are beautiful; I haven't paid to see the inside of the house EVER but have enjoyed walking on the grounds often, and once worked on the garden crew.
