Great place for grocery shopping, pharmacy needs - and a hardware store if need be! The clam chowder sold in the back of the Mendocino store (near fish market) is great. A loaf of Hannah's Seeded bread from Ft. Bragg Bakery (sold in grocery store) and some of this chowder = a great little dinner.

Favorite restaurant of many visitors. Beaujolais used to be owned by Margaret Fox, well known in the world of foodies as a pioneer in farm to table concept. We've had excellent dinners at Beaujolais, but I think it's overpriced and still riding the wave of its former fame. Other restaurants are equally good.

Our favorite place! You can see Catch A Canoe from the house; it's THE place to rent a kayak and paddle up Big River to see river otters, seals, herons and other bird life...and to enjoy the serenity.
