Hopscotch will be your friend while you are at our house, because it is only 3 blocks, down the hill at the B-Line Trail. On weekdays they open at 7am. 8am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday. Closing every day at 7pm. Their menu of coffee, tea, and other beverages is delicious. Their most tasty food offerings are: house-made granola, local bagels with schmears, and savories and sweets made by our local bakery, Piccoli Dolci. From the Hopscotch patio you can watch people promenade along the B-Line Trail

Cardinal Spirits is a distillery with a delicious kitchen. You can go here for tastings, drinks and food indoors or out on the patio overlooking the B-Line Trail. The vibe is crisp and happy and relaxing. Cardinal also sells bottles of house-made spirits to take home.

Soma is another delicious, local, longstanding coffeeshop located between our house on campus. It's a convenient stop, open early (as early as 6 or 6:30am) and late (til about 11pm). Good coffees and espresso bar, breakfast burritos, baked goods, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, and tea. Good tables for sitting to work.

Even if my brother didn't own the Atlas Ballroom I would recommended it because it's fun in there. They have a jukebox, photo booth, and fun games like skeeball and tabletop shuffleboard. Atlas is Bloomington's only bar without televisions.

Heading north on the B-Line will take you into town and beyond. Heading south, the paved B-Line will meet the tinder surface Rail Trail after about a mile. The trail is super wonderful!
