It was here that the revolution aginst the turks started, and it was here that the first modern Greek flag was hoisted in 1805. You can buy things like wine and olive oil, all made by the monks, in the small shop

The old ruin town on the top of a very high and steep cliff. It was to this place several hundred years ago that the population of Skiathos went to escape pirates and invasions of foreign fleets. The most stunning views on Skiathos!

The best shopping is located on the main street of Skiathos, Papadiamantis Street, which starts in the harbour and cuts through Skiathos town up to Akropolis, the highst point in town. Don't forget to explore the small side streets leading out from Papadiamantis. Here you also have an outdoor cinema where several times a week the Mamma Mia movies are shown (Mamma Mia was mostly filmed on Skiathos and neighbouring island Skopelos)
