Absolutely delicious! I could eat the Steakhouse Burger here everyday. Smoky pub cheese, fried onion rings, smoked bacon, & a bourbon steak sauce atop a perfectly cooked burger- YUM! My husband loves the Tritip with 1850 bbq sauce and caramelized onions partnered with one of their local beers and the kids go crazy for the mac & cheese. The service is always efficient and friendly. This might be our favorite spot in town!

Great for the whole family! Pro Tip: this place can get busy so call your order in ahead of time if you are short on time.

Hidden Gem! This is a small health food store packed with fresh produce, organic and vegan options, clean products and more. It is also attached to a scrumptious cafe that serves clean sandwiches, wraps and salads. You can even pick up some grab and go food items to take with you on your way to adventure!

Nothing taste better after a long day of exploring that a slice of pizza on The Deck. We are still working our way through the Specialty Pizzas menu options to give our reviews but I am starting to think that you can't go wrong. The Deck can get busy but if you take your pizza and walk around the back of the building, there are more tables by the pool area that are nearly always empty and much quieter. We like to take our pizza over there and let the kids practice climbing on the boulders.

Sightseeing

My ability to climb ends at about 18 inches off the ground but my respect and appreciation for the sport knows no limits. This is a really great place stop in and support a local treasure. This museum displays perfectly curated climbing artifacts and memorabilia was founded by respected climber and guide, Ken Yager. Ken also is the founding force behind the Yosemite Facelift program which coordinates thousands of volunteers each Fall for a massive clean up effort throughout Yosemite.

Grocery

Perfect place to stock up on food and drinks for your stay. Pioneer market is a fully stoked market located just down in Mariposa.

Activity

No matter how many times we take the stroll to the base of the falls, it never disappoints. This is an easy walk that allows you to get up close with one of Yosemite's most iconic features. Highly recommend going in the early morning or later afternoon. Since this path is so accessible, it can become very crowded during peak hours. My favorite time to see Yosemite Falls is early spring when it is booming. However, there is something magical call "frazil ice" that happens in the creek below during late winter/early spring that is truly amazing if you are lucky enough to catch it. Episode 9 of Yosemite's Nature Notes video series on the NPS website does a great job of explaining this phenomenon.

This is on my bucket list. Zephyr is just down the street. If the water levels are just right, you don't want to miss your window to raft down the Merced. The rafting season is getting shorter so strike while the irons hot!

Experience Yosemite like few do. An activity that we love to do in the valley is to float down the Merced through the valley. Raft rentals are available in Curry Village but if you grab a tube from the Midpines store (across the street from the cabin) or bring your own, you can drop in your tube near the North Pines campground and float all the way down to Sentinel Beach. There is a shuttle stop right by Sentinel Beach that will bring you can to day use parking or even back to North Pines to do it all again. It can take 3-4 hours to float down but we love that even on a packed day, you can feel like you have the park to yourself while you are on the river. Be sure to check the water levels with the Ranger before your excursion.

Feeling adventurous? Due to construction through 2023/2024, Glacier Point Road is closed. This means that the only way to the top is to hike! You may want to consider taking this opportunity to enjoy the Glacier Point view undisturbed. The Four Mile Trail is a strenuous hike that takes you from the valley floor to Glacier point. The hike is 9.6 mi (15.5 km) round trip with a 3,200 foot elevation gain. The trail follows an old toll trail that was established in 1872. Pretty Cool!

This is such a unique trail. The first portion is paved which is where you see most of the traffic as it brings you to the Vernal Fall footbridge. Beyond the paved path, the trail climbs stone steps alongside Vernal fall where you are close enough to feel the mist of the fall. Once you reach the top and its breathtaking views, you have a few choices- you can head back the way you came, take the quieter switchback route down down the JMT, or continue on without much of the crowds to Nevada Fall. If you have time for ONE valley floor hike, I would recommend this one.

A great experience panning for gold just a few miles down the road. The owner Paul is super knowledgeable not only on panning but an expert on the area.

YARTS

There is a Yarts (Public Transportation to Yosemite) Stop just a mile down the road in either direction. The Yarts bus stops between 6-7 times a day in the area. Yarts is a great way to get into the park without driving your personal vehicle. Check the website for the most up to date schedule.
