City/town information

Woodbridge sits on the banks of the River Deben and is easily accessed by car along the A12, or by rail. The renowned Tidemill, picture above, has been preserved for 300 years and is the main tourist attraction of the area. In the town, there is an excellent selection of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Just across the river is Sutton Hoo, a National Trust site where the anglo- saxon shop burial was discovered in the 1930s and is the subject of the recent film 'The Dig' starring Ralph Fiennes. There are so many things to do and places to visit from this town. Aldeburgh and Southwold are just up the A12. There is the RSPB bird centre at Minsmere, amazing coastal walks and the castle in Framlingham than Ed Sheeren sings about! Come and discover this beautiful corner of England!

The new kids on the block are the refurbished Bull Inn. This is the best place to sit outside, and catch the afternoon/evening sunshine overlooking the Shire Hall and watching the world go by with a good rose! The food is great too - traditional local dishes using the finest of seasonal home-grown ingredients from the very best of local suppliers. 90% of the fresh ingredients are sourced within a 60 minute drive of Woodbridge. www.bullinnwoodbridge.co.uk

The best coffee in Woodbridge (in my opinion!) Paul and Ade have been perfecting their coffee for a while and also make the best carrot cake in the world (in my opinion!) Outdoor seating is on the market square next the Abbey church perfect for watching the world go by.... www.wildstrawberrycafe.co.uk

The best pastries and croissants in town! This bakery has spread throughout Suffolk due to its popularity and this is its fifth outlet. Takeaway or sit in if there is any space! Breakfast is very popular, although afternoon tea is also pretty good! www.twomagpiesbakery.co.uk
