Norrtälje is a cozy small town with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and cafés. Very inviting for a stroll to look at shops, have a coffee or just enjoy an ice cream along the river. Two of our favorite stops are lunch at Åtellet (www.atellet.se) and drinks & dinner at Den Gyllene Räven (www.dengylleneraven.se). Or the other way around ;)

You can take a ferry to discover the beautiful islands of Yxlan and Blidö that are picturesque typical Roslagen islands (you take the first ferry to Yxlan, and from there another to Blidö). That's a whole day program.

We love to take our boat out to this island and eat lunch at their nice restaurant and enjoy the surroundings in the outer part of the archipelago. To get there without a boat, you need to park your car in Räfsnäs and take a public ferry from there, it takes about 30 min. Make sure to do all your bookings beforehand, both the ferry and the restaurant (very popular during the high season)

Lovely place for lunch and discovering beautiful Furusund. We like to combine lunch here with kayak paddling around the island, there is a rental place very close to the restaurant. Both should be booked in advance.

Båtsviken has a lovely marina with a small beach and hang out places by the sundeck. It is a 5-6 min walk from our house. We usually walk via a shortcut in the woods. Otherwise you can always take “Gälarstigen” and then Breviks sjöväg from there (it takes 2-3 minutes longer).

Make sure to buy your beer or wine before Saturday 3pm.
Systembolaget closes at 3pm and leave many tourists disappointed. So make sure to plan the spirits ahead!
