Fabulous food in a relaxed beachside restaurant - serving breakfast, lunch and dinner - check their website for service times. We recommend the pancakes for breakfast and anything fishy or seafood for lunch/dinner. Only 5 mins drive from the house.

Great food in the middle of St Ouens Bay, well known to all the surf bums and a bit of an institution. Serves breakfast lunch and dinner - check the website for service times. You can also rent a surfboard from the surf shop next door if you are feeling brave.

Located in st Aubins - Laid back in the restaurant downstairs and a bit more fancy in the ‘anchor club’ upstairs. In the heart of st aubins and a regularly featured venue in the jersey housewives this is a popular place for locals. On the no 15 bus route from the house.

Fancy a treat meal? This is one of my favourite places to eat, slightly more punchy on the price tag but in my opinion great value for what you get. Not in the most picturesque setting but the gorgeous interior makes up for it. Located at the bottom of beaumont hill and on the no 15 bus route so easy to travel there from the house or 7 min drive.

Without doubt the best way to see the coastline or take a trip to one of our sister islands. Booking is essential and if you’re lucky you may see dolphins 🐬.

Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is an international charity, located at Jersey Zoo, working to save species from extinction. Established by author and conservationist Gerald Durrell in 1959, Durrell’s aim is for more diverse, beautiful and resilient natural landscapes in which species can thrive and people can enjoy a deeper connection with nature. Well worth an afternoon or morning, lots of lovely animals to see and set in beautiful grounds. The cake in the cafe by the gift shop is very good as a treat!

The largest farm park in Jersey offers indoor and outdoor fun with animals, family fun and dozens of great family activities. All the summer seasonal activities are now open except the maize maze which opens July/ August. This place is great for children aged up to 8/9 years, once you have paid to get in everything is included. I can often while away a good 3-4 hours playing here with my kids. The cafe food in there is simple, tasty and great value. Only a 5-10 min drive away from the house.

Play park for all ages. Only a 10/15 minute walk away from the house towards the railway walk. Has a cafe in the park that does good coffee, bacon rolls/burgers/chips and ice creams. The ‘off the rails’ restaurant next to the park also serves great artisan pizza and good vino - close to home if you have more than one! See directions to the Railway walk and Elephant park.

Arguably one of the best beaches in jersey although some may say a little touristy. Has everything you need down there coupled with white sands. You have to pay for parking down here. Great coffee can be found at Solshine. Get your ice creams from the corner shop on the road behind the oyster box - they also sell food and have an off licence.

Bit of a trek but a very beautiful beach. Lots of stairs to climb in and out but totally worth it. The sea will cover the whole beach at high tide so check tides before making a visit and note the sand is often wet. Loved by children for the rock pools and caves to explore. Great swimming spot. Cafe at the top does good food too. Just make sure you are prepared if you want to stay a while.

One of the biggest beaches on the island and this is where all the surfing happens. It’s easy to hire surfboards at either el tico or the watersplash. Big is beautiful in this case.

Known to my family as the back to front beach as the sun is always behind you. Is great for children as it has all amenities near by. Check out Coleen’s Cafe if you need a bite to eat. The pub up the road - Moulin De Lecq serves good pub grub and has an outdoor space with children’s park.

Bus Route No 15 - most frequent bus on the island.

No 15 bus route runs from the main road near the house. It runs from the airport to red houses (shops), st aubins (quaint harbour) and then into town. The bus company that runs all buses is ‘Liberty Bus’ - timetables online. The bus goes approx. every 15 mins. If heading to town wait at ‘Airport garages South’ and if traveling back get off at ‘Airport garages North’. There’s a shortcut to the bus stop = left out of the house to the end of the estate, by the side of the last house on the right is a path to the road, at the road turn right which takes you to the main road where the bus Stop is.

Jersey Seasfaris

If you are keen to see the island from the sea I would recommend booking this before your trip. A huge hit amongst tourists and locals alike, such good fun and a great way to see the island’s beautiful landscape and sister islands. Search for them on Google and they have an online booking system. Worth every penny.

Walk, use the buses and e bikes. Ditch the taxis.

Where possible taxis should be avoided, they seem to be ridiculously expensive. Walking and buses will help you save if you don’t have a car or fancy a drink. The Evie e bikes are also easily accessible.

Directions to the Railway Walk/Elephant park.

The railway walk runs from la corbiere in the far west to st aubins. It’s a beautiful walk and great way to get to st aubins (quaint harbour = pubs and restaurants - on no 15 bus). When leaving the house turn left and then left again down the side of the neighbour’s house, carry on down the short track to the road. At the road turn right up the hill and take the 1st left - Petit Route Des Mielles. Follow the road for 1km, halfway you will pass a shop called airport cash. Once you find the path - left to st aubins, right to la corbiere. The elephant park is next to the crossroads.
